Mesas To Monuments Quilt Show

Thank you!

In appreciation to all who helped to make the Mesas to Monuments Quilt Show a success.

  •  First of all, I’d like to express appreciation to those brave members who established the foundation for our larger quilt shows in 2014 (Vicky Smith, Charlene Knoll, Lauri Burgesser).
  • Next, thank you so much to the show’s team leaders who have made my job infinitely easier over the years by being responsible, participating in meetings, anticipating needs, helping guide the show’s direction, and offering wisdom and encouragement. I truly value each of you and your contributions to our show. We should all feel proud of what we have accomplished.
  • A special thank-you to Shar and Jinny, who at the last minute stepped into Eddy’s very big shoes for check-in and return of quilts. Please keep Eddy in your thoughts and prayers.
  • And a great big thank you to everyone who volunteered in so many ways from setup to takedown, including SSQ members and friends and family. With your labor and time over the years, we have truly become a well-oiled machine!
  • To our vendors. You are a big draw to the show and we sincerely value your participation. Many of you traveled from miles away at great expense given the soaring gas prices, and we thank you for that! Thanks also to those vendors who donated a gift for our new addition, Kids Corner and blackout BINGO.
  • To Carolyn Ray, who has headed up the Black Canyon Quilt Show for many years. Carolyn has provided welcome guidance over the years and in 2025 helped immensely with our new pipe and drape decisions.
  • Special recognition to Fred Penoyer (Rose’s husband), who worked late Saturday evening to aid one of our vendors dealing with car trouble by hauling their trailer to a more secure location. Fred has always gone above and beyond at our shows and lends a cheery disposition to the process.
  • Tom Dykema (Joanie’s husband) has capably guided the show setup team efficiently and effectively over many years. Great job, Tom! You are appreciated!
  • To everyone who entered a quilt! We had a wide variety of beautiful quilts. I hope you were each able to view your quilts on display and feel proud. It’s such a joy to watch visitors discuss the quilts and point out various details and techniques. Without the quilts, there would be no show.
  • To Katherine Bullen for the addition of Kids Corner.  Following through with the BINGO cards to draw people to vendors was immensely appreciated. The BINGO cards were a big hit!
  • A special thanks to the admission ladies for taking the time to explain the BINGO cards and viewer’s choice awards to each person who paid admission.
  • To the mayors of Fruita and Grand Junction for voting on their favorite quilt and promising to make some phone calls to the media to help bring more attention to our show.
  • To the various news outlets:  Spoke & Blossom, Fruita Living Magazine, Beacon Senior News, and Colorado Life magazine for the wonderful articles and photos they allowed space for to help us get the word out. To Dixie Burmeister and her radio show Food for Thought. To the many websites and calendars who posted information about our show.  To the GJ Daily Sentinel for including photos of our show in Friday’s edition. And to the radio stations who announced us on air!
  • To all the husbands, family members and friends. We’d be lost without you!
  • To Heather Rossiter and Chauntel and the team with the Grand Junction Convention Center – you ROCK!
  • Finally, to everyone who came to our show. Thank you for coming, thanks for voting, thanks for commenting! We’ll see you in 2028!
