Activities

Taking place this year, May 1 and 2, Mesas to Monuments Quilt Show is a visual delight of color, talent and art. Nearly 200 quilts are on display every show, featuring a number of styles and forms of quilting. You will see machine piecing and quilting, hand sewing, collage style, traditional and modern patterns, along with creations from all ages and cultures. We invite you to enter your quilts as a member of the guild.

Beautiful Moab, Utah beckons us in January of each year for 3 1/2 days of friendship, laughter, relationship building and plenty of quilting. Registration is during the November SSQ meeting for this quilt retreat. Any member, in good standing, can attend with a limit of 50. Typically, no classes or vendors, just lots of time to work on your own projects. Wednesday dinner, Thursday lunch and Friday lunch are provided

Be sure to add this retreat to your yearly quilting plans! Next retreat is scheduled for January 20-23, 2027. You MUST fill out and bring the EMERGENCY CONTACT FORM to the retreat.

What are the Holidays without Stockings. We want to make sure no child knows. Members of our guild sew Christmas stockings for foster children in the Mesa County DHS (Department of Human Services) programs.  Kits and patterns are available by clicking below.  Each year the quild supplies 250 stockings for this program. Our 2026 stocking program is near it's deadline.  Please bring you stockings to the October General Meeting. Click below for the printed instructions or go to this link for the video!

Guild members have the option to make a courthouse steps design block which are combined to make a quilt.  The quilts are given to members who have had a first diagnosis of cancer. In addition, a different design or donated quilt may be used for TLC.

This year's Block of the Month is a true stunner. Bijou Wonder is a true sampler quilt, with each month featuring a different block. Make it scrappy or get creative with your color ways. The complete pattern with fabric requirements can be found here.

Each month, Sunset Slope Quilters offers fun activities along with the monthly meeting or another date. These may include:

• A workshop with a guest quilter
• A sew-a-long
• A potluck or lunch
